Tesla Model 2 – The EV for Everyone?
Tesla is preparing to launch what could be its biggest game-changer yet — the Model 2. Designed to be smaller, cheaper, and more efficient, it’s aimed squarely at making EV ownership possible for millions more drivers.
Compact Size, Big Ambition
The Model 2 is expected to be a compact hatchback, roughly the size of a VW Golf, making it ideal for urban driving. Despite its size, it’s being engineered with Tesla’s signature minimalist interior and high-tech features.
Price That Changes the Game
With a rumored starting price around $25,000, the Model 2 could be the most affordable Tesla yet — and one of the cheapest EVs with long-range capability.
Range & Performance
Early leaks suggest a range of 250–300 miles per charge, depending on the version. Acceleration won’t match the Model 3 Performance, but Tesla is targeting a zippy, city-friendly driving experience.
Autopilot & Tech
Even at this lower price point, the Model 2 is expected to come with Tesla’s advanced driver-assistance features, with optional Full Self-Driving for those willing to upgrade.
Production & Launch
Tesla plans to build the Model 2 at its new Gigafactory in Mexico, which should help keep production costs low. Launch is rumored for late 2025, with deliveries starting in early 2026.
Why It Matters
The Model 2 could dramatically expand Tesla’s reach into markets where EVs are still seen as too expensive. If it delivers on range, price, and tech, it could accelerate EV adoption globally.
A $25k Tesla might sound impossible — but if anyone can pull it off, it’s Elon Musk’s team.
